Duplex Designs

AuArchitecture has designed duplex style dual occupancy projects in various suburbs.

The site width, zoning policy, planning overlay, orientation, width of frontage and whether the street was a quiet suburban street or a busy road ( Road Zone) were some of the factors we considered in the design.

Some Councils discourage duplex unless the frontage is wide ( in excess of 17m).

This Vastu influenced plan had the ideal north facing backyard. The owners will live in the larger unit and rent the other.

This duplex is on a 12 metre frontage facing a busy road. The basement parking allowed cars to leave the townhouse without reversing all the way which is not safe.
